Mission, vision and Goals:

The female athlete group of sport medicine research center was established in 2011 in the aim of contributing collaboration between basic and clinical researchers.

The main interests:

Evaluating the frequency of common musculoskeletal injuries and medical conditions in elite female athletes especially in high risk groups,
Understanding the intrinsic biological difference between two sex,
Assessing the anatomic and biomechanical factors,
Finding effective prevention and treatment strategies in elite as well as recreational female athlete population.
Evaluating the intrinsic and extrinsic risk factors predisposing females to overuse and higher injury rates compared to males.
Reporting common clinical manifestation of the Female Athlete Triad and the related risk factors among high risk sports in Iran.
