Female athletes
Mission, vision and Goals:
The female athlete group of sport medicine research center was established in 2011 in the aim of contributing collaboration between basic and clinical researchers.The main interests:
- Evaluating the frequency of common musculoskeletal injuries and medical conditions in elite female athletes especially in high risk groups,
- Understanding the intrinsic biological difference between two sex,
- Assessing the anatomic and biomechanical factors,
- Finding effective prevention and treatment strategies in elite as well as recreational female athlete population.
- Evaluating the intrinsic and extrinsic risk factors predisposing females to overuse and higher injury rates compared to males.
- Reporting common clinical manifestation of the Female Athlete Triad and the related risk factors among high risk sports in Iran.
